The Miners Memorial Service is held to honour the men and women who have lost their lives servicing the mining industry over the past century.
The service is attended by family members, mine management and mines rescue personnel.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend and lay floral tributes if they wish.
A symbolic miner’s lamp will be lit to signify the beginning of the Festival.
The St Barbara’s Miners Memorial will adhere with government health recommendations, in place, at the current time. The Miners Memorial will be held on Wednesday 4th December 2024.

St Barbara's Parade 2024

Undoubtedly the showcase of the St Barbara’s Festival, the Parade is a fun-filled extravaganza for the whole family!
Thousands of people gather for the Parade to watch enormous pieces of mining equipment rumble down historical Hannan Street including an enormous KCGM Cat 793 Haul Truck standing 6 metres tall, 8 metres wide and 13 metres long!
Along with mining equipment, you can expect to see community organisations, schools, animals, prospectors and mines rescue demonstrations - you might even catch a glimpse of a Christmas elf!
The St Barbara’s Parade will adhere with government health recommendations, in place, at the current time. The St Barbara's Parade will be held on Sunday 1st December 2024.
